Ft. Morgan Oil Leak Update 06/04/10

Good evening everyone.  It was a really hot beautiful day at the beach.  People have been swimming playing and having a great time all day.  Our beaches are still beautiful and everyone is still enjoying them.

As of 5 Pm today the Health Department has issued a health advisory about swimming in the water.  The water is closed currently for swimmers as of now.   But, it is important to understand that our beaches are still OPEN. People are laying out in the sun, strolling the beach looking for sea shells, building sand sculptures, and playing volleyball, etc.   Check out some of the sand sculptures we found!

Our hope is that our beaches will remain as beautiful as ever and our friends can continue to come down and enjoy the beaches they have made so many memories on along with the new visitors.  The beaches are still OPEN. If you decide to come down and give us a try and your vacation experience is affected by the oil, we will refund any unused part of your stay and not charge a cancellation fee. The guests that are here now are actually extending their reservations because we have such a beautiful area.  And, we are making new reservations for people who actually want to come see what all the fuss is about.

As always if you have any questions or concerns please send us an email or give us a call a we are happy to help!!!  We hope to see you soon.

NO OIL ON FT. MORGAN BEACHES 06/3/10

Hey everyone. It is almost 7 on Thursday, June 3rd. I just got back from the beach in the dunes Community on Ft. Morgan. this Beach is about 2 miles from the end of the island by sand and a mile on the street. I got a report that we had tar balls on the beach. I wanted you to see what these are. However when i got down there, I couldn’t find any. The reports I got said they were from the size of a dime to the size of a Hershey Bar. I did take a couple of videos of lots of people on the beach and in the water, and of the army of workers that came to clean up these tar balls. From what we understand the majority of them were on the end of the island. We saw NO OIL!!!!! I will post first thing in the morning, about 7.
