"Spent one of our best vacations to date with my family of five. Family was truly impressed with the house as I kept the location and its layout a total surprise to everyone prior to our arrival. The location was fantastic and with just a short walk in either direction we had access to the Gulf or the Bay. The most impressive thing for myself was that we were able to set up our beach area the first day as everyone in the area did with tent, umbrellas and chairs along with other beach items and just leave it on the beach for the whole week with no worries. Everyday we were able to just grab a towel and cooler and head on out without hauling items back and forth all week. The beach area was never crowded as for the most part a few locals and the families staying in the area for that time period were the only people occupying the beaches. What an experience whether a beautiful early morning sunrise while fishing the surf or a late evening relaxing with the family enjoying the waves.
We will surely be back."

"The house was very nice, cooking supplies were fine and beds very comfortable. No broom was supplied so bought one to keep sand at a minimum. One of the kitchen pantry closets was moldy and ill smelling. Garbage disposal not working until someone found a reset button. (About 2 days into our stay.) 13" tv in twin bedroom remote had no batteries. Back stairs bannister extremely loose, very dangerous! After we identified what to stay away from, our week was very enjoyable, having two sitting rooms worked out well. "

"The pictures do not fo this property justice. Short walk to the sandy beach. Enjoyed the privacy, barely 100 people on the beach for Memorial day week. Great view from the deck. Plenty of space for 2 families, 5 adults and 4 teenagers. The 2 living areas allowed for plenty of room for adults to have their spaces as well as teenagers. Will definitely be back. "

"We took our whole family for a week at the beach - all 10 of us! The layout of the house worked great for us. It’s basically a large unit and small unit combined. Walk out the front door and go across the street to the pool or turn right and walk about 300 ft to the boardwalk and beach. We set up our tent, chairs & toys and left them all week. It’s a 20-25 minute drive back to Gulf Shores but we mostly ate in. Nice grill on back porch. Family-oriented area to return to each year. Furnishings could use some updating but unit was clean. One of the A/C units wasn’t working but maintenance was quick to respond. Small supply of linens & washer/dryers were small stack units but 1 on each side. Overall we had a great time & would definitely return!"

"Great location. Large home plenty of beds and the two kitchens worked out great! Fun for the entire family old and young. Nice good size pool and kiddie pool. Quick walk to the beach. Sassy Bass is right down the road and great food and drinks and wonderful bar staff! Our second time to the gulf shores and just as great if not better than the first time. "

"We were looking for a 6 bedroom condo to accommodate our three families and Big Pelican was just the ticket! The layout of the condo was perfect for each family having their own space and room for all to gather for meals and family conversations. Big Pelican was just a short walk to the beach, and a nice pool was right across the street for our grandkids to enjoy. We liked the fact that we could leave our beach canopy up all week and the beaches were not overly crowded. The amenities of Big Pelican were great, with plenty of dishes, pots and pans, and silverware for all to use. We particularly appreciated the two washer/dryer units so that we could stay on top of towels and clothes throughout the two weeks of our stay. Probably our only disappointment was the poor state of the condo's decks. In many places, deck nails were sticking up and needed to be hammered back in. And the wooden deck chairs were dilapidated and unusable. But we didn't really have time to use the outside living spaces here anyway because we were SO busy at the beach, pool, and excursions! The staff of the Sunset Properties were very helpful and we really appreciated the information provided before and during our stay through the mobile app. (A side wife would recommend using a microfiber mop on the tile floors to keep them from being sticky.)"

"We had four families and the house was perfectly set up for interaction and solitude. The walk to beach was 5 minutes or less (we had little kids and they walk slowly), and the pool was great as it was adjacent to the house. Overall, we had a wonderful week and would stay again."
