"Fort Morgan is a beautiful remote area and exactly what we were looking for. It is 18 miles from the many restaurants in Gulf Shores although there are a couple restaurants nearby. This property had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and loved that it was right next to a pool and it was an easy walk to the beach. Weather at the end of April was gorgeous. We are fairly easy to please but did feel like the property was not cleaned thoroughly before our stay. The tile floor was sandy, the stove top had cooking splatters and the toilets could have been cleaned better. It also would have been nice to have a few hangars in the closets.

"Pro's- The pool is located beside this home which was wonderful and the ocean is a very short walk. Also they had parking by the boardwalk so you can load and drive your stuff down. Nice because of cooler, chairs and so on... It was a nice quiet gated community. House was very nice.

Con's- Distance to gulf shores, front porch not being covered to escape the rain and hot sun. The toilet in the master needs to be worked on, also the toaster needs replaced. "

"It was a perfect low key place for our family. We have four little kids and having the pool next to us was perfect. The beach was a short walk too which made it easy to come back for nap time or lunch. The house was clean and there were some problems with the air conditioning, we called and maintenance was there in like 5 minutes. Great place!"

"We loved our stay at Dolphy Dunes East! The house felt like home within the first day. It was clean and nicely decorated. We were there a week and decided to reserve it for next winter. The beach was awesome and our Boxer, Beans couldn't get enough of it. My sincere thanks to Becky, Jennifer, Mark and Jim for their quick response to the very few issues that arose. If I had my druthers the master bed would have a firmer mattress and a couple of the windows were sticky, but all in all we fell in love with the place and the people. Once again, thank you,Becky, Jennifer, Mark and Jim forgiving us the best winter of our lives! We will see you in December!!!

The Dunes is so family oriented. Everyone there seem to have children and they all seemed to be having a good time. Being a pet friendly environment was a good thing because many people had their dogs. It really was fantastic, we are going back next year."

"This is the second time we have rented this particular beach house from Sunset Properties, and have yet to be disappointed! The home is clean and has what you need for a vacation home. This time we rented both Dolphy Dunes East and West, we like them both! When their has been an issue Sunset Properties has been quick to send someone out to fix it. I like that you can text them for assistance. We like the location of Dolphy Dunes right next to the pool and a short walk to the beach. We will be back! "

"This was our third year at Dolphy Dunes East. Another calm quiet snow free winter. We are grateful we have found a place that accepts our Boxer, Beans. Most places restrict by size and he is a big boy that loves being allowed on the beach. We are careful to clean up his business and also clean up after people that seem to think it isn't that important. I fear if enough people fail to clean up we will all lose the privilege of it being a dog friendly place. Being on a leash is also important and 95% of the people adhere to this rule. Again a few special people can ruin this for the rest of us.
Dolphy Dunes East is a wonderful place to spend 31⁄2 months. Spacious living quarters with 3 bedrooms, two full baths and a well equipped kitchen along with a washer and dryer. I love the tile floors as carpeting would be difficult with the sand that comes in. If you are older with bad knees I would recommend bringing furniture risers to put under a chair to facilitate getting vertical as both couches and the chair are comfy but low. This place has great beds that never failed to give me a good nights sleep. The owner upgrades it every year to keep it a joy to stay in, and we appreciate that. The only shortcoming would be not being able to open some of the windows and i expect the owner will be looking at that next. A breeze coming in is cheaper than running the air conditioning.
We hope to stay healthy enough to continue coming down for at least the next five years. There is so much to see and do in the area and the locals are so very welcoming. Becky, Karen, Jennifer and the others at Sunset Properties make sure we have a great winter and for any maintenance issues Mark and Jim are quick to respond. 5 stars all the way around and we thank you!"

Loved Sassy Bass restaurant just down the road. Suggest new cookware (we had to go buy a couple pieces) and living room furniture (dingy and stained). Would also be nice to have a patio table and chairs on one of the decks. Overall, we would stay in this home again."

"The house was overall a good value for the price. For the most part everything was as expected. The ease of arriving and leaving was seamless through the app. All the appliances and furniture were fine and in good shape. The only issue we had was with the pool next door to our house. The pool was closed the entire time we were there and did not get any maintenance until the day we were leaving. Disappointing for the kids as they were expecting to use it in the late afternoon. With the rental description listed as “Next to pool”, that’s a bit of a letdown. I reported the pool the first day we were there but nothing was done to it for 5 days and it still was not operating when we left. Other than that, everything was great."

"Great, but short trip (5 days) with grandchildren! Big plus - "home allowed dogs" - who are also our "pet-children." Home was nice, clean & right next door to home owners' shared pool (pool okay, not great). Was a short walk to beach & the offered "optional/additional cost" beach rental 'tent & 4 chairs' set-up was great & eliminated lugging items back & forth to beach. Only downside or rental (which we were well aware of when we rented) was the distance down Fort Morgan Road (almost to where ended at the Fort & ferry launch), & driving time to restaurants, shopping, Gulf Shores, etc. We will definitely consider renting the home again because of reasonable cost & since it is 1 of few places where you can bring pets & they are allowed on the beach, but grandchildren will probably want something closer to activities. "

"This was our second year at Dolphy Dunes East in late January to March 7.... There was lots of living space ....three bedrooms and two bathrooms..nice size kitchen and comfortable furniture...pool next door and walking distance to the beach and we have it reserved again next year. One thing, the kitchen really could use some better pots and pans however. Also, this year we had no outside lighting on our deck. Made it somewhat difficult when coming home in the dark. Otherwise very nice place to stay.
